What do you think about The Fighter? Ok, David O. Russell's movie won two Academy Awards on Sunday, (Christian Bale for Best Supporting Actor and Melissa Leo for Best Supporting Actress) but it also made over $100 million worldwide so far, which is nice success. So, it's no surprise that star and producer Mark Wahlberg already revealed:
“Now we're gonna talk about doing No. 2. We're gonna do the Ward/Gatti trilogy and make it real,” referring to the real-life Mickey Ward's three fights with his most fierce opponent, Arturo Gatti.
That's exactly what Wahlberg said in an interview with Extra's Mario Lopez as he was arriving to the 83rd Academy Awards.
Ok, we all know that it's too early to talk about the sequel, but – as a possibility – it sounds interesting. And just for a record, in the above mentioned interview Wahlberg also said:
“It's crazy. We're just thrilled to be here. I told my wife, as a guy, you don't just want to go to the finals, you want to win. So we definitely want to win, but I'm not gonna be disappointed. I know at least two of my co-stars are gonna win!”
As you see, Wahlberg has quite interesting visions, so expect more details on the further adventures of Mickey and his wayward brother Dickey soon. Stay tuned!
