Martin Scorsese to Executive Produce Luc Besson’s MALAVITA

Martin Scorsese Remember that Luc Besson‘s film Malavita? I'm sure you do. After all, the movie stars Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Tommy Lee Jones, so we're all like – give us more updates, we want to know more about it! Ok then, here we go: Martin Scorsese has officially signed on to executive produce the project for Besson's EuropaCorp and Relativity Media! Nothing to be surprised about, we all knew that Scorsese played an important role offering creative consultation before and during filming (and just for a record – principal photography began last August in Normandy). As we previously reported, Besson is directing this dark comedy from his own script which centers on a notorious mafia family – the Manzonis, who gets relocated to Normandy, France under the witness protection program. While they do their best to fit in, old habits die hard and they soon find themselves handling things the “family” way. Starring Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Tommy Lee Jones, Dianna Agron and John D'Leo, Malavita is already set to open on October 18th, 2013. Stay tuned for more updates!
