Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. TV Pilot Gets Ming-Na Wen

Ming-Na Wen Back in late October, just days after Ming-Na Wen officially joined Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. ABC series, AMC Theaters caught up with the Macanese-born American actress to briefly discuss her role as agent Melinda May. The pilot, which is co-written and directed by The Avengers’ Joss Whedon, will center on the happenings involving S.H.I.E.L.D. agency itself, with no relations to the Marvel’s superhero assemble. In addition to Joss Whedon, Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot is penned by his brother Jed Whedon and his wife Maurissa Tancharoen. Check out the short video interview she gave to AMC, in which she talks about the show, Joss Whedon, the Marvel Universe and about how the show will not stick with normal comic canon: Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. also stars Clark Gregg (Agent Coulson), Brett Dalton (Agent Ward), Chloe Bennet-Wang (Agent Skye), Elizabeth Henstridge (Agent Simmons) and Ian De Caestecker (Agent Fitz). Marvel TV’s executive producer Jeph Loeb stated recently that the pilot is aiming for a premiere spot on ABC’s Fall of 2013 line-up.
