Maniac is actually the remake of of the 1980 film (directed by
William Lustig) of the same name and beside Wood & Arnezeder, the movie also stars
Liane Balaban,
America Olivo,
Jan Broberg,
Morgane Slemp,
Sal Landi,
Genevieve Alexandra and
Sammi Rotibi.
The movie centers on Wood's character, a mentally disturbed man named Frank Zito who lives with his mother. But when she dies, this lonely man starts a killing spree, murdering innocent young women by scalping them.
When he meets and befriends Anna, an artist opening an art exhibit played by Arnezeder, he struggles to find what he really wants from her:a new trophy or love.
Maniac is set to open on December 26th, 2012!
