New Inception Photos
Recently, we wrote about possible next Christopher Nolan's blockbuster Inception, which he wanted to do for a very long time.
Today, Warner Bros has released new photos from this more than interesting project both written and directed by Oscar nominated Nolan (Insomnia, Memento, The Prestige, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight).
After big success with The Dark Knight and box office earnings ($1 billion) he could afford himself working on his dream movie with $160 million budget.
“It's something I've thought about off and on since I was about 16. I wrote the first draft of this script seven or eight years ago, but it goes back much further, this idea of approaching dream and the dream life as another state of reality,” Nolan said.
Inception has been described as a “contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind.”
But Cillian Murphy, the Irish actor who plays in Inception explained it very well:
“It's the fantasy world, but it's the one that the mind itself can create or fall into, so the audience can access it in a different way than these other movies where you go to another planet or something. It's the place the mind goes, and it's often very dark and always interesting.”
“Complex and ambiguous are the perfect way to describe the story, and it's going to be a challenge to ultimately pull it off. But that is what Chris Nolan specializes in. He has been able to convey really complex narratives that work on a multitude of different layers … and make it entertaining and engaging throughout. You look at ‘Insomnia' or ‘Memento,' these movies are working on so many different levels. That's his expertise. It's what he does best, as a matter of fact,” Leonardo DiCaprio said.
Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ken Watanabe, Tom Hardy, Michael Caine and Dileep Rao also stars this sci-fi actioner which will open theaters on July 16, 2010 although we heard rumors that Inception can be seen at this year's Cannes Film Festival.
