Italian director,
Michele Soavi, is planning a sequel to his cult fave
Dellamorte Dellamore (
Cemetery Man), and that's quite interesting news, indeed.
On the other hand, it looks that Soavi is planning to make a Goonies
–type adventure movie for younger audiences, with
Nicolas Cage in mind for a major role.
And, yes, that means Nicolas Cage has been given an offer to star in the whole thing, and that, you must admit, sounds awesome!
According to folks from
Twitch, the adventure film is titled
Treasure of Pompeii and it will definitely be his next project, with production scheduled to begin in April.
Nicolas Cage is not yet officially cast, though the producers of the film have made an offer and are hopeful that he will come on board.
Soavi's hope is that
Cemetery Man 2 will come next after Treasure of Pompeii.
We still have no details when it comes to the plot of this one, except the rumors that the story “will follow some boys' adventures in Pompeii, the dead Roman city near the Vesuvius volcano, while searching for a hidden treasure.”
