BERLINALE 2013: NOBODY’S DAUGHTER HAEWON by Hong Sang-soo
Here's an interesting project which comes from South Korean director Hong Sang-soo. Yes, you already see that it's one of the films that will make its world premiere and screen in competition at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival, so quite logically – we're here to share some great images and the first trailer for the movie!
Is she tired of life or love? Why else is she falling asleep in a restaurant? Maybe because she feels abandoned? That's exactly how this story starts…
Written and directed by Hong Sang-soo, this drama centers on a young woman named Haewon, who spins into depression following the departure of her mother to Canada. She falls back on a troubled affair with a professor, who offers to whisk her away. But, is that enough for Haewon? Or, even better – who can say how unreal our waking life is, or how real our dreams are?

“Haewon, a college student, wants to end her secret affair with her professor, Seongjun. Feeling depressed after bidding farewell to her mother who is set to immigrate to Canada the next day, Haewon seeks out Seongjun again after a long time. That day, they run into her classmates at a restaurant and their relationship gets revealed. Haewon gets more agitated and Seongjun makes an extreme suggestion to run away together… Haewon dreams often. Her dreams will be compared to her waking life, but none can be denied as being a part of her life….”
Nobody's Daughter Haewon stars Lee Seon Gyun, Yoo Joon-sang, Ye Ji-won and Jeong Eun-Chae.
