Benicio Del Toro, Salma Hayek, Aaron Johnson, Demian Bichir, Emile Hirsch, Uma Thurman and
John Travolta all star in this movie which is based on Winslow’s best-selling crime novel that was named one of The New York Times’ Top 10 Books of 2010.
Just for a record, Winslow also co-wrote the script together with
Shane Salerno.
The movie follows two marijuana growers – University of California, Berkeley graduate Ben (Johnson) and former U.S. Navy SEAL Chon (Kitsch), who confront a Mexican drug cartel to rescue their shared hippie girlfriend, O, played by
Blake Lively.
Savages opens on July 6th, 2012.
