OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN Gets LONDON HAS FALLEN Sequel

London-Fallen-Butler
London-Fallen-Butler Never mind that the battle of the White House actioners did not play out as most expected, Olympus Has Fallen performed well enough to warrant a sequel. The follow-up to ‘Die Hard in the White House' will be called London Has Fallen. Guess where the new film is set? Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman reprising their roles from the first film with the story now revolving around a plot to strike the capital of England during the funeral of the British Prime Minister. Only the President of the United States, his secret service head and an English MI6 agent can help save the day. Angela Bassett and Radha Mitchell are also set to reprise their roles. It's unlikely, however, that Antoine Fuqua will return to direct a follow-up to Olympus, but original writers Katrin Benedikt and Creighton Rothenberger will return to pen the script. London Has Fallen will begin production in May 2014 in London, of course. Millennium Films is producing, with Focus Features onboard to distribute the film in the U.S. When it comes to the film franchise, the possibilities are endless! ‘Paris Has Fallen,' ‘Berlin Has Fallen'…. All jokes aside, the $70 million budgeted original film went on to gross $160 million worldwide so why not it would get a sequel. Who should direct London?
