Get ready for another action thriller guys! Caught Stealing is an upcoming movie based on Charlie Huston‘s novel of the same name, and at this moment we know that Alec Baldwin and Patrick Wilson are attached to star in the whole thing. But that's not all! According to the latest reports, Academy Award Winner Stefan Ruzowitzky (The Counterfeiters) is in some serious talks to direct the movie!
If negotiations with Ruzowitzky work out, he would come on board to direct the noir mystery thriller from David Hayter‘s script which is, as we said, based on the popular novel of the same name by Charlie Huston.
Huston's Caught Stealing is the first book in the Hank Thompson trilogy, which centers on a guy named Hank Thompson, once a hotshot high school baseball prospect, turned unlucky, going-nowhere bartender who mistakenly gets caught up in a bloody treasure hunt through New York City.
It turns out that the cat Hank's neighbor left in his care is sitting on a secret: hidden at the bottom of its cage is a key wanted by a sadistic cop, Russian mobsters, a Samoan hit man, and a pair of psychotic brothers.
As you already guess, Patrick Wilson is set to play that Hank guy, while Alec Baldwin is on board to play a sadistic cop.
Lost Rhino Films' Marcus Chait and James Carpinello will produce alongside Wilson. Paula Wagner is executive producing alongside Myriad's Kirk D'Amico.
