Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann in Judd Apatow’s Next Movie
Check out the latest Hollywood rumor, guys! Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann will reprise their Knocked Up roles for a new comedy that remains untitled.
Yes, you read it correctly, and we're here to report that director Judd Apatow will bring their characters, ‘Debbie and Pete' back to the big screen in a film that is scheduled to open in theatres in summer 2012.
So, while we're here let's jut remind you that Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl featured in Judd Apatow's Knocked Up as expectant parents dealing with the consequences of a one-night stand.
Rudd enjoyed a supporting role as Heigl's onscreen brother-in-law, with Apatow's real-life spouse, Leslie Mann, playing his movie wife.
At this moment it's not known whether Rogen or Heigl will be joining the cast, but at least we do know who will (again!) be the part of the whole thing…
The movie will be neither a prequel nor a sequel, but rather a spin off.
Apatow confirmed the news saying that “…the movie will pick up in a different part of the couple's life together.
It is just a story from Pete and Debbie's current life. People really responded to their characters and problems.
I felt like there was a lot of ground I could explore with them, so we'll be shooting in July and will come out the following June. There are some fun details yet to reveal but I will let them come out slowly.”
As usual, we'll keep an eye on this project, so make sure you stay tuned as well!
