Queens of Country, satirical Western tale of a lost iPod, line dancing and mistaken identities starring
Lizzy Caplan (Cloverfield),
Ron Livingston (Band of Brothers), and
Joe Lo Truglio (Superbad) has just completed post-production and the filmmakers are in the decision making process about where to premiere the film.
‘Jolene Gillis (Caplan) is a line-dancing country music fanatic who finds an iPod stuffed with country music staples. Convinced that the owner is her soul mate, Jolene sets out to find him … much to the chagrin of her current boyfriend, Rance (Livingston). Her journey somehow finds room for a dominatrix, a cross-dressing Joe Lo Truglio, and a nearly unrecognizable Maynard James Keenan, best known as the singer for Tool.'
Filmmakers behind the project too surreal for a mainstream audience,
Ryan Page and
Christopher Pomerenke (The Heart is a Drum Machine), describing Queens of Country as:
seemingly equal parts Raising Arizona and Urban Cowboy with a dash of Rocky Horror.
Isaac Brock will compose his first feature film score for a movie based on an obsessive country music fan.
An announcement is being planned for sometime mid-March 2012.
