Christopher McQuarrie (Oscar winner for writing The Usual Suspects) and Paramount people have been hard at work.
One Shot is the ninth book in the series of Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child. The crime thriller follows the story of Cruise's Jack Reacher, ‘an ex-Army cop who gets sucked into the mystery surrounding the arrest of a sniper accused of killing five random people in a shooting.' Furthermore, ‘Reacher is teamed with a beautiful young defense lawyer, moving closer to the unseen enemy who is pulling the strings.'
For those who claim Cruise shouldn't have been chosen the author of the hit series, Lee Child, insists Cruise's height shouldn't matter:
Reacher's size in the books is a metaphor for an unstoppable force, which Cruise portrays in his own way.
However, Paramount plans to begin shooting next month in Pittsburgh and release One Shot on February 8, 2013.
An English actress, so good lately in Barney's Version, will next be seen alongside Rowan Atkinson in
Johnny English Reborn and
Clash of the Titans 2 alongside Sam Worthington.
