Rose Byrne To Join ANNIE Remake
What's new with the upcoming Annie remake? Well, guess what, Rose Byrne is all of the sudden in some serious talks to play Grace, an assistant to Oliver Daddy Warbucks. In case you forgot, Jamie Foxx is already on board to play Daddy (aka Benjamin Stacks in Sony's version), and the rest of the cast also sounds promising & includes Cameron Diaz and young Quvenzhané Wallis.
As we previously reported, Will Gluck directs the movie from a script he co-wrote with Emma Thompson and Aline Brosh McKenna, which is set in modern times and follows the adventures of little orphan Annie who tries to find a family to call her own.
So, now we have Wallis as Annie, Foxx as Stacks – the rich New York financier who takes in the titlular orphan, Diaz as Miss Hannigan aka the story's villainous orphanage matron, and Byrne as Grace, a dutiful assistant to Foxx's character.
Doesn't sound bad at all, hope you agree?
Anyway, let us also mention that James Lassiter, Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith will produce the movie through Overbrook Entertainment, along with Jay Z and Tyran Smith through Marcy Media.
Annie is already set to hit theaters on December 25th, 2014.
With every new update on this project – we'll be back, so make sure you stay tuned!
