Rust And Bone’s Matthias Schoenaerts To Star In Period Drama SUITE FRANCAISE
If you are in a food coma from Thanksgiving dinner or exhausted from your Black Friday shopping marathon, we've got some news you're going to love.
One of the Rust and Bone's leads, Matthias Schoenaerts has joined Michelle Williams and Kristin Scott Thomas in the period drama Suite Francaise.
Rising star who broke through in a muscular performance with the Belgian film Bullhead, this time will play the German officer in the WWII drama from director Saul Dibb, which charts the complicated love affair between a young French woman, Lucille Angellier (Williams) and a German officer assigned to watch her in Nazi-occupied France.
Thomas will reportedly portray Angellier's domineering mother-in-law.
English director Dibb (The Duchess) also wrote the screenplay, based on the first two of a planned sequence of five novels by Irène Némirovsky, first published in a single volume in 2004. A spirited young woman Angellier is left with a hard decision of choosing between love or her country.
The production will begin in London next spring.
