Time for a little
The Lone Ranger update. Finally, we're here to add one lovely lady to this long-waited project, and trust us, this sounds quite interesting! British actress
Ruth Wilson is currently in negotiations to star as the female lead in the upcoming
Gore Verbinski‘s project that we already wrote about.
If negotiations work out, Wilson will join the cast that already includes
Johnny Depp and
Armie Hammer.
Yeah, I'm sure you all agree this cast is great. As we previously reported, Armie Hammer is on board to star as the Lone Ranger, Johnny Depp will be his side-kick Tonto, while Wilson comes in to play a character named Rebecca.
According to
Deadline, Wilson, who was nominated for a Golden Globe for a TV mini-series Jane Eyre back in 2008, beat out Jessica Chastain (best known from The Tree of Life) and Abbie Cornish (who we all watched in Sucker Punch) for this part.
On the other hand, we should also remind you that
Tom Wilkinson is in talks to co-star in the movie as a railroad tycoon in the Old West.
The Lone Ranger is a masked lawman who, with his Native American friend Tonto, fights injustice. Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels starred in the Lone Ranger television series form 1949 to 1957.
This time, Verbinski will direct the whole thing from a script by Pirates of the Caribbean-franchise scribes
Ted Elliott and
Terry Rossio and
Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road).
As you already know, Jerry Bruckheimer is on board as an executive producer for the film.
Movie opens December 21st, 2012.
Let us know what you think about the above mentioned cast, and stay tuned!
Awesome! I loved her in Jane Eyre.
