Well, cats (obviously) love
Sam Rockwell, we also love this talented actor, but what definitely sounds great is that director
Gil Kenan also has nothing against Rockwell's (possible) involvement in the upcoming
Poltergeist reboot. Yep, we've just learned that
Seven Psychopaths star is in early talks to join previously announced
Rosemarie DeWitt, who's already set to play the female lead in the whole thing. Sounds…
great, or what?
Ok, it's not like we desperately need another remake, but this could be interesting. As we previously
reported, some seriously good team is behind the project –
Monster House helmer Kenan is set to direct the remake from a script written by
David Linsay-Abaire (just for a record, we're talking about a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer), while
Sam Raimi is set to produce the pic for MGM and Fox 2000.
On the other hand, DeWitt also looks like an interesting choice for the female lead, aka the mother of a family whose home is haunted by a host of ghosts.
And, if negotiations with Rockwell work out – he would come on board to play the patriarch of the Bowen family.
In case you forgot the rest of the story, in this revisionist take on the classic horror film, the above mentioned duo is struggling to make ends meet and:
…relocates to an outdated suburban home whereupon they are confronted by an angry spirit who kidnaps their youngest daughter and challenges them to band together to rescue her from the clutches of evil.
So, yes, we're definitely interested in this remake, hope we'll soon have more updates to share, so make sure you stay tuned!
