‘It took us four years (to make) and it killed us.’ Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie Simpson are not only too dangerous for Iran, but they’re also doing a really bad job on their creators.
Despite the problems that it made, fans mostly enjoyed the film, and many wonder if there would be a sequel coming some time down the road.
Series creator Matt Groening, while speaking this Saturday at UCLA’s annual entertainment symposium, discussed how it was still very far off.
Here’s his reasoning:
It took us four years (to make the movie) and it killed us… it stole animators from the show.
Although The Simpsons Movie has grossed $500 million, the show is one of the most successful of all time, and it’s already lasted over a quarter of a century on network TV.
Therefore, longtime Simpsons producer-director David Silverman added that another Simpsons film is still another ten to fifteen years away, perhaps not even until the show has ended.
It’s good that they concentrate on the series because this season is a bit of a return to form after years of being mediocre.
Well, to be honest this isn’t all bad news for Simpsons.
