Evan Goldberg And Seth Rogen To Direct THE INTERVIEW
Hot on the heels of a recent visiting North Korea by retired NBA player Dennis Rodman, Columbia Pictures has tapped Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg for another directing gig.
The studio must be very happy with their directorial debut This is the End, so the duo will next helm the comedy The Interview, with Rogen's frequent co-star James Franco being eyed for a lead role.
The Interview is based on a story written by Goldberg, Rogen and Dan Sterling (The Sarah Silverman Program), which follows a talk show host (Franco) and his producer (Rogen) who find themselves caught up in an assassination attempt against the political leader of North Korea.
Franco and Rogen previously starred together in Pineapple Express as well as Seth's directorial debut This is the End.
Rogen and Goldberg could possibly shoot The Interview later this year.
Rogen's upcoming film is Nicholas Stoller's comedy Townies, in which he'll star opposite Zac Efron and possibly Rose Byrne. Townies starts production soon.
This is the End is scheduled for a June 14th, 2013 release, starring Jay Baruchel, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, Danny McBride, Jason Segel, Michael Cera, Kevin Hart, Aziz Ansari, Craig Robinson, Emma Watson, David Krumholtz, Paul Rudd, Martin Starr, Mindy Kaling, Kevin Hart, and Rihanna.
I hope we hear more about The Interview soon.
