Snowpiercer is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A class system evolves on the train but a revolution brews. The remaining populace aboard the train have been divided into strict social classes with the poorest at the back of the train and high society at the front. A revolution begins at the back that will not be deterred until it reaches the very front.
Bong Joon-Ho’s SNOWPIERCER: Behind-The-Scenes Footage
The first footage from Bong Joon-ho‘s English language debut Snowpiercer has finally surfaced via an international behind-the-scenes featurette.
The Weinstein Company bought the domestic rights to the all-star dystopian disaster epic, set entirely on a train in a new ice age, but there is also a glimpse at some of the action outside.
A one-minute featurette is mixed in enough to give us a sense of the world of Snowpiercer, showing some of the action and early scenes from the movie.
Chris Evans, wielding an axe, and Kang-ho Song get the most time, plus a bit of John Hurt and Tilda Swinton.
Snowpiercer also stars Jamie Bell, Alison Pill, Ed Harris, Ewen Bremner, Octavia Spencer, and Ko Asung.
A wide summer 2013 release looks likely, but no date has been set yet.
