A brand-new IMAX poster shows the Enterprise being attacked by John Harrison’s (Benedict Cumberbatch) humongous-looking USS Vengeance, the Dreadnought-class ship which hi-res image we ran last week.
J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Star Trek Into Darkness is only the fifth major studio release behind The Dark Knight, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol and The Dark Knight Rises filmed with IMAX cameras.
Plus, it will have about 30 minutes of its run time on a full-size IMAX screen.
This one-sheet will be on the walls for promotion. It evokes a ‘David and Goliath’ feel, but seems to have a bit of a spoiler-ish element to it.
The reboot of Gene Roddenberry‘s original science fiction series was co-written by Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman & Damon Lindelof.
The crew from JJ Abrams’s hit 2009 reboot is back, including Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin and John Cho, joined by new cast members Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller.
Star Trek sequel beams into IMAX theaters on May 15th before expanding to conventional theaters on May 17th, 2013.
