Lionsgate has released a new :60 trailer for Sam Raimi‘s The Possession. Based on a true story, the upcoming film, originally titled The Dibbuk Box, is the terrifying account of how one family must unite in order to survive the wrath of an unspeakable evil.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan (WATCHMEN) plays a father of two young girls, the kind who is grounded at the same time as he is willing to grant them their every wish. Kyra Sedgwick (“The Closer”) is the mom, while Madison Davenport and Natasha Calis play the girls.
When the oldest daughter, Em, buys an antique box at a yard sale and suddenly becomes obsessed with it, no one thinks much of it but, in almost no time, the first signs of possession start to appear.
The film is directed by Ole Bornedal (NIGHTWATCH), written by Juliet Snowden & Stiles White, and produced by horror master Sam Raimi along with Rob Tapert and J.R. Young.
The Possession is scheduled to hit theaters everywhere August 31st, 2012.
