THE SCORPIO RACES is Next Fantasy Novel Adaptation
Another novel adaptation is coming, and this time, I like the sound of “fantasy-novel” in this report. Why? Well, simply because this could actually be something very very interesting. Especially if you like to race, or like to watch races, or…whatever!
I’m here today to tell you that guys from Warner Bros acquired the rights to the young adult fantasy novel The Scorpio Races, which comes from author Maggie Stiefvater, and was just released last week.
So, it’s fresh, and it follows a young woman who is the first female to enter her island’s annual horse race.
But, in this case, the horses are flesh eating creatures from Celtic lore. See, I told you it’s an interesting story?
At this moment not much is known about the whole thing, but we know that The Scorpio Races will be produced through KatzSmith Productions, by David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith. And that also sounds serious!
Until something new arrives, check out the description of Stiefvater’s book:
“Some race to win. Others race to survive. It happens at the start of every November: the Scorpio Races. Riders attempt to keep hold of their water horses long enough to make it to the finish line.
Some riders live. Others die. At age nineteen, Sean Kendrick is the returning champion. He is a young man of few words, and if he has any fears, he keeps them buried deep, where no one else can see them.
Puck Connolly is different. She never meant to ride in the Scorpio Races. But fate hasn’t given her much of a choice. So she enters the competition – the first girl ever to do so. She is in no way prepared for what is going to happen.”
Let us know what you think, and stay tuned!
