Nicole Kidman, I almost forgot who she was. Wait, yeah, I remember now, and I'm (kind of) glad that her name is all of the sudden attached to the upcoming
The Family Fang adaptation of
Kevin Wilson's bestselling novel of the same name.
Nice move for Kidman, indeed! After all, she will not just star in it, but produce the project as well! And now, check out the rest of this report to see why they already describe this project as a cross between
Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf? and
The Royal Tenenbaums.
According to Deadline, the book is about a couple of performance artists who routinely sucked their kids into taking part in a variety of bizarre events.
When the full grown children return home in a state of crisis, they are unwittingly enlisted to help in the execution of a daring and mysterious final performance by their parents, who are hellbent on achieving the act of a lifetime.
Their kids harbor more than a little resentment and blame the performance art for how badly their own lives have turned out.
So, as we said, Kidman and her Blossom Films partner Per Saari have acquired the screen rights to The Family Fang and Kidman will produce alongside Leslie Urdang and Dean Vanech.

I’m so stoked with this news – sounds like a perfect film for Nicole!! Her performance in last year’s Rabbit Hole deserved an Academy Award, it was truly moving <3 This project sounds like it could well be yet another Oscar nomination for Nic! <3
