Anyway, we will once again remind you that director Raja Gosnell stands behind the sequel to Columbia Pictures/Sony Pictures Animation's hybrid live action animated family blockbuster comedy, which is set to hit theaters on July 31st, 2013.
The Smurfs 2 has quite interesting voice-cast on board, which includes Neil Patrick Harris, Brendan Gleeson, Jayma Mays, Sofia Vergara, Hank Azaria, Katy Perry, Jonathan Winters, Christina Ricci, JB Smoove, George Lopez, Anton Yelchin and John Oliver.
For those who may have missed our previous reports – here's the official trailer, more images and posters from the movie which will (this time) center on the evil wizard Gargamel who creates a couple of mischievous Smurf-like creatures called the Naughties that he hopes will let him harness the all-powerful, magical Smurf-essence.
Using his new creation, he kidnaps Smurfette and takes her to Paris. Papa, Clumsy, Grouchy, and Vanity transport, using magical crystals, to the real world and seek their friends Patrick and Grace Winslow and their son, Blue to help rescue Smurfette.
