The Wolverine’s Mark Bomback To Rewrite DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES
Mark Bomback, the writer attached to the projects including Live Free or Die Hard (2007), Unstoppable (2010), Total Recal (2012), Jack the Giant Killer (2012) and The Wolverine (2012) is absolutely top-notch professional.
Such a good guy has been tapped to dip his pen into the sequel of a Dawn of the Planet of the Apes prequel.
Bomback also did some uncredited work on last year's Apes surprise hit.
Cloverfield' director Matt Reeves, who replaced Rupert Wyatt, will helm the sequel, which first draft was written by Rise writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, and a second draft was written for Wyatt by Scott Burns (Contagion).
However, history has shown that the more writing credits a studio puts on top of a feature the less memorable it becomes.
The good news is that Andy Serkis returning as Caesar, the chimpanzee from the first film that freed monkeys and apes and led them in an uprising against humans for being total jerks.
Fox has set to start production rather soon in advance of the planned May 23rd, 2014 release date due to CGI's time consuming process.
