Based on Douglas Kennedy's novel originally published in 2007, the film revolves around an American writer (Ethan Hawke) who has fled to Paris in the wake of a scandal that cost him his job as a film lecturer at a small university. He takes up with a widow who might be involved in a series of murders.
Kristin Scott Thomas, Joanna Kulig, and Samir Guesmi complete the supporting cast.
Directed by Pawel Pawlikowski, The Woman in the Fifth can be seen in theaters starting on June 15th, 2012.
