Prepare to get totally annihilated 'cause the first (extended) TV spot for Edgar Wright‘s upcoming The World's End has arrived! Almost like a trailer (read: 1-minute video is waiting for you in the rest of this report), but the most important thing is that it gives us a much better look at a brand new British sci-fi comedy which is set to hit theaters this August. Written by Wright and Simon Pegg, the movie follows a group of friends reattempting an epic pub crawl during an alien invasion.
Those friends are Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Paddy Considine, Martin Freeman and Eddie Marsan. Lovely Rosamund Pike also stars in The World's End, which is set to hit theaters on August 23rd.
20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by Gary King, a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World's End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind's.
