The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Thai actor and martial arts expert Tony Jaa would join a pretty tough crowd of Fast & Furious 7.
One of the best ass-kicking martial artists has reportedly signed on to make his English-language debut in this franchise picture.
No word yet on where Jaa fits into the James Wan-directed sequel, but I hope that doesn't mean he's getting some small fry role.
Ong Bak star said in an email to THR:
I have been a big fan of the Fast and Furious franchise. The films are fast paced, fun and keep the audience involved. There is a great mix of humor and action, something I really appreciate. There is no better film to be involved in for a first U.S. studio production … Having a chance to work with Vin Diesel and The Rock already makes me a winner.
An all-star line-up of action stars includes names like Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and Tyrese Gibson, along with MMA fighter Ronda Rousey who was announced as being part of the cast earlier this month.
The Chris Morgan-scripted Fast & Furious franchise's next installment is due to go into production in September with a release date planned for July 11th, 2014.
It's going to be a scrap, it's going to be pretty much exciting fights.
More confirmed franchise favorites are expected in the days to come.
