Badass Digest reports that Oscar-winner Trent Reznor will not only compose the film score for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, he is also co-starring.
Also EW reports that industrial rocker is in talks to not only score the Timur Bekmambetov movie but also take a role in it. Starring Benjamin Walker, Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Jimmi Simpson, the film is based on the book by Seth Grahame-Smith inspired on the fake diaries of the president (Walker) given by a bloodsucker named Henry Sturgess (Cooper). Sturgess saved Lincoln when he battles a vampire as a young, and the two become good friends. He teaches Lincoln about the vampires in the past, trains him in fight, and sends the president to chase and kill dark vampires.
As we previously posted Mackie will play the president's best friend, Will, with Winstead playing Mary Todd. No word still on Simpson's role. As for Reznor, should everything work out, he'll play Jack Barts who kills Abe's mommy and sets the story in motion. It could be quite disturbing in a film that is already going to be somewhat over the top. But, his musical side is an exciting prospect and it will be awesome to see what comes up for a flick that's functioning in a totally unlike sphere than The Social Network.
As you well know Reznor and his partner Atticus Ross are currently scoring David Fincher's follow-up, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo which is scheduled for December. ‘Vampire Hunter' won't hit theaters until June 22nd next year so Reznor has a lot of time on his hands to get both to the finish.
When I first starting listening to Nine Inch Nails I never figured that the world would recognize the genius of Trent Reznor. I am very wrong. Now, it'll be interesting to see if he can act as well as he makes music. In any case the movie will have a kick ass soundtrack
Pretty cool, huh?
