I am confident that Morgan Creek will stay true to the common goal we share of depicting Tupac's life in a way that will allow the world to see the authenticity of his artistry, his hopes and his life goals.”Tupac Amaru Shakur, known by his stage names 2Pac (or simply Pac) and Makaveli, was an American rapper. Tupac Shakur's life was anything but boring and besides his creativity he ran foul of the law many times over his life. He was shot down September 7, 1996 and died as a result on September 13th. To this day, rumors are still floating around that he faked his death due to the volume of sales released after that. But it's obvious, those rumors are not proved. Shakur has sold over 75 million albums worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists in the world. In the United States alone he has sold 37.5 million records. Rolling Stone Magazine named him the 86th Greatest Artist of All Time. According to Forbes, in 2008 Shakur's estate made $15 million. In 2002, they recognize him as a Top Earning Dead celebrity coming in on No. 10. With a name like Fuqua (Training Day, Brooklyn's Finest) as the director, who is known for making hard-hitting films, I think this could be one of the few realistic musical biopics. Casting is now ongoing and the film will be shot on location in Los Angeles, New York, Georgia and Las Vegas. Universal Pictures will distribute the film in North America, while Morgan Creek will co-distribute the film with Morgan Creek International overseas. Are you interested in a Tupac biopic?

Take a look at the following video clip of Tira Heard, an Atlanta spoken word artist who is a friend of mine. I think she would be perfect to play the role of Jada in Antoine Fuqua’s upcoming Tupac Biopic. Let me know what you think…
