Venice 2013: Jonathan Glazer’s UNDER THE SKIN Images With Scarlett Johansson

Under the Skin Jonathan Glazer‘s sci-fi movie Under the Skin is not exactly a completely new project, but believe it or not – there’s still no official trailer for the whole thing! The only update we have are three more pictures with Scarlett Johansson who, let us remind you, stars as an alien in human form on a journey through Scotland. Head inside to take a look… For those who are not so familiar with the project, the movie revolves around Johansson’s character, an alien named Laura, who is sent from afar and equipped with enough human language and awesome seductive power to capture, destroy and presumably send home human males. Under the Skin In search of loners, she drives around the exquisitely moody landscapes of the Scottish highlands. And then, her curiosity about her human body and an accidental act of pity disrupt her mission: talk about lost in translation! Glazer directed the whole thing from a script he co-wrote with Walter Campbell, and the movie is actually an adaptation of Michael Faber’s acclaimed novel of the same name. The movie begins like an effectively creepy sci-fi horror film, but soon deepens into a lyrical evocation of solitude and estrangement and a mournful lament for ephemeral earthly beauty. Described as a surprisingly layered tale, Under The Skin co-stars Paul Brannigan, Joe Szula, Krystof Hádek and Scott Dymond, and the good news is that the movie is set to premiere this Tuesday at the 70th Venice International Film Festival. That means we’ll soon have a trailer to share, make sure you stay tuned! Under the Skin
