Well, that was fast! A few days ago we reported that
David Cronenberg has some serious plans for the future with his
Cosmopolis star,
Robert Pattinson, and today we get the (kind of) confirmation for the whole thing.
It looks that the movie we were talking about is definitely
Map to the Stars, and the good thing is that another great actor could get involved in the whole thing! Yeah, you already guess –
Viggo Mortensen!
And it goes like this… Thanks to the guys from
The Playlist, we now know that Pattinson is definitely attached to star in Cronenberg's upcoming movie, but they also add that the director wants Mortensen to play a part as well.
Here's what Cronenberg revealed to them:
“It's not a go picture. We have a script that I love that screenwriter Bruce Wagner wrote. It's a very difficult film to get made as was ‘Cosmopolis' actually. Whether I can get this movie to happen, I tried it five years ago, I couldn't get it made, so I still might not be able to get it made.”
According to Cronenberg, Maps to the Stars is
“…very extreme. It's not obviously a very big commercial movie, and even as an independent film it's difficult. It is completely different from ‘Cosmopolis', but it's very acerbic and satirical, it's a hard sell.”
And, in case you've missed our previous report on this one, the film is suppose to be a dark comedic drama about two child actors ruined by Hollywood's depravity.
Well, we're definitely in. And you?
