Here’s a first look photo of Chris Pine on a bike in motion as the Tom Clancy character Jack Ryan to your Friday afternoon.
As you may remember the popular Tom Clancy character of CIA analyst Jack Ryan has previously appeared in the novel-to-screen adaptations The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger and The Sum of All Fears, played by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and, most recently, Ben Affleck.
This time, director Kenneth Branagh presents younger, more casual incarnation of Jack Ryan without the fancy space clothes.
The film also stars Kevin Costner, recently signed on to play Ryan’s mentor, a CIA liaison, Keira Knightley as the female lead and Branagh himself playing a villain. James Earl Jones is maybe reprising his role from previous Tom Clancy adaptations.
An original story is written by Steven Zaillian, Anthony Peckham, Adam Cozad and David Koepp and isn’t adapted from any Tom Clancy novel.
Pine’s ex-Marine is working as a Moscow-based financial analyst who uncovers a plot by his employer to finance a terrorist attack designed to collapse the U.S. economy.
The actioner hit theaters on December 25th, 2013.
