Take a better look at young Kitai Raige and his father Cypher, aka Jaden and Will Smith, ’cause they’re here to remind you that a second trailer for the sci-fi thriller arrives tomorrow! 1000 years ago we left for a reason & stuff like that, remember?
M.Night Shyamalan directs the movie from a script he co-wrote with Gary Whitta, and as you already know, the whole thing is set in the near future where humanity was forced to abandon the planet forever after cataclysmic events.
The rest of the story goes like this:
1,000 years after cataclysmic events, a crash landing leaves teenager Kitai Raige and his legendary father Cypher stranded on Earth. With Cypher critically injured, Kitai must embark on a perilous journey to signal for help, facing uncharted terrain, evolved animal species that now rule the planet, and an unstoppable alien creature that escaped during the crash. Father and son must learn to work together and trust one another if they want any chance of returning home…
Starring Will Smith, Jaden Smith, Isabelle Fuhrman, Kristofer Hivju, Gabriel Caste and Zoe Kravitz, After Earth is set to hit theaters on June 7th, 2013.
