Will Smith Won’t Return For INDEPENDENCE DAY 2

After months and months of going back and forth, it seems that Will Smith has decided against appearing in the Independence Day 2 aka ID Forever Part 1

IndependenceDay After months and months of going back and forth, it seems that Will Smith has decided against appearing in the Independence Day sequel aka ID Forever Part 1. Of course, that doesn’t mean that we won’t get a sequel because director Roland Emmerich already said two scripts were being written by James Vanderbilt to cover their bases – one centering on Smith’s hero character Steven Hiller, and one without him entirely. The sequel would rather focus on the next generation of heroes, including the step-son of Smith’s character. ID Forever Part I is still scheduled for a July 1st, 2016 release, just two days shy of the original movie’s 20th anniversary. Familiar faces such as Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum are expected to return, and Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan is heavily tipped to have a role, which could reportedly be Hiller’s kid from the first movie but all grown up. Emmerich is expected to get the Independence Day 2 rolling later this year. Once we hear more, we’ll let you know. independenceday1
