Zac Efron Takes ‘The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman’

Zac Efron The Playlist reports that Zac Efron is now attached to The Necessary Death Of Charlie Countryman, taking the place of Shia LaBeouf , another ex-Disney star who was signed on to the project last year. Starting his own production company (Ninjas Runnin’ Wild), and being eyed for a number of interesting projects over the past year ( Snabba Cash remake), Zac Efron is set to work in a role that will show the actor as we’ve never seen him before. Charlie Countryman after the death of his mother heads to Europe to find himself but lost his head over the girl. When Charlie meets irresistible Gabi she’s already belongs to Nigel, a violent boss with power over his gang of criminals. Armed with little more than his sense of humor and a raw charm, Charlie bears one staining beat down after another to cheer Gabi and keep her out of harm’s way. After all his exploits of blind valor create such a mess that to save the girl of his dreams, must Charlie Countryman die? Producer Albert Berger has confirmed that the film, said to be in the spirit of Pulp Fiction. The film has been penned by Matt Drake who also scribed the forthcoming comedy Project X. Dante Ariola was previously expected to direct, but this is no longer the case. The Necessary Death Of Charlie Countryman is currently out to directors, and is expected to get the film in front of cameras this year. Stay tuned for further updates.
