There are three Left Behind movies, and the order is: Left Behind (2000), Left Behind II: Tribulation Force (2002) and Left Behind: World at War (2005). Fourth in a series of films based on the bestselling novels by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins is starting to take shape.
One Tree Hill star Chad Michael Murray is in talks to join Nicolas Cage and stunt-master-turned-director Vic Armstrong who are reportedly teaming up to reboot the film series.
If Murray signs on to star in the project, then he will be playing the role of journalist Cameron ‘Buck’ Williams in the thriller.
Cage has already signed on for the lead role of Rayford Steele in a remake of the Christian-themed franchise that will follow a group of survivors during the first few hours after the Rapture.
Filming is expected to begin in early spring in Baton Rouge with an eye toward wide release in the fourth quarter of 2013.
Murray will next appear in 2013 Fruitvale and The Haunting in Connecticut 2: The Ghosts of Georgia.
