Four new TV spots for Clint Eastwood‘s biopic of J Edgar Hoover starring Leonardo DiCaprio, have arrived online.

Written by Dustin Lance Black – who won the Best Original Screenplay Oscar for 2008′s Milk, J. Edgar promises to be an interesting, even if somewhat bland, look into the life of one of of the more controversial figures of the 20th Century. As the face of law enforcement in America for almost fifty years, J. Edgar Hoover (Leonardo DiCaprio) was feared and admired, reviled and revered. But behind closed doors, he held secrets that would have destroyed his image, his career and his life.

Warner Bros. has debuted two posters for J. Edgar, starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

Directed by Clint Eastwoon on a script by Dustin Lance Black (of the critically acclaimed “Milk,” yet another very solid biopic), “J. Edgar” promises to be an interesting, even if somewhat bland, look into the life of one of of the more controversial figures of the 20th Century. Nothing new in here, simply because we’ve been talking about this movie since…I don’t know since when, but we’ve been talking a lot about the whole thing.

So, thank God we finally have the first trailer for Clint Eastwood‘s upcoming biopic titled J. Edgar. I usually have nothing against the projects which are based on the true stories, but I’m not fascinated by this trailer. Maybe it’s a little too dark for me, I don’t know…

On the other hand, I like Leonardo DiCaprio‘s new look, and as usual, we all expect to see a strong performance from him, especially when we have a role like this – controversial man like J. Edgar Hoover.

Clint Eastwood‘s biopic of FBI’s first director J. Edgar Hoover hits theaters this November, and here’s new photos which feature two of the main stars, Leonardo DiCaprio and Naomi Watts. The movie traces Hoover’s life from his childhood in Washington, D.C., through his ascent to power in the 1920s, his 50-year reign over the FBI, and his death in 1972 — with  DiCaprio donning prosthetic makeup to portray the man well into his bulldog-like elderly years.

Director Michael Polish Sets Cast For Kerouac’s Big Sur Semi-Biopic

Director Michael Polish (Twin Falls Idaho) is filming a scene from a forthcoming film about Jack Kerouac today at Fulton and 7th Avenue, at a historic train terminal where Kerouac gets off a 1950s bus.

A big screen adaptation of memoirish novel Big Sur, starring Jean-Marc Barr (Dogville) as Kerouac, Josh Lucas (The Lincoln Lawyer) is taking on best friend Neal Cassady, and Kate Bosworth (Superman Returns) is playing Billie, as well as Anthony Edwards, Rahda Mitchell, Balthazar Getty and Henry Thomas are playing supporting roles.

Lionsgate just released a new clip and poster for The Lincoln Lawyer.

In the gripping thriller The Lincoln Lawyer, Matthew McConaughey stars as Michael “Mick” Haller, a slick, charismatic Los Angeles criminal defense attorney who operates out of the back of his Lincoln Continental sedan. Having spent most of his career defending petty, gutter-variety criminals, Mick unexpectedly lands the case of a lifetime: defending a rich Beverly Hills playboy (Ryan Phillippe) who is accused of attempted murder. However, what initially appears to be a straightforward case with a big money pay-off swiftly develops into a deadly match between two masters of manipulation and a crisis of conscience for Haller.

Stephen Root Joins J. Edgar

Stephen RootNo Country for Old Men star, Stephen Root is the latest one to join the cast of an upcoming Clint Eastwood‘s biopic J. Edgar.

We already wrote about this project, so you know that it’s currently in production and that some interesting cast is already on board: Leonardo DiCaprio, Judi Dench, Damon Herriman, Josh Lucas, Armie Hammer and Ed Westwick. Now add Root!

The story will mainly follow Hoover and Toulson as young men, but several flash forwards will be scattered throughout the film that show the two as old men in their seventies. While initially only colleagues, Hoover and Toulson will share an onscreen kiss following an altercation, which then leads to Hoover bringing Toulson in as the FBI director’s right-hand man.

DiCaprio plays controversial figure J. Edgar Hoover, the director of the FBI from 1935 up until his death in 1972.

Armie Hammer stars as Hoover’s alleged lover, Clyde Tolson, Ed Westwick as Agent Smith, an operative hired by Hoover himself to write his biopic, Josh Lucas will portray Charles Lindbergh, Damon Herriman is Bruno Hauptmann, accused of kidnapping Lindbergh’s 20-month baby in 1932 while Naomi Watts plays Helen Gandy, Hoover’s loyal secretary.
