Blake Lively, Savages

Oliver Stone wants Blake Lively to play Ophelia, the kidnapped girlfriend of two beach bums and drug dealers who is held to ransom.

Stone will pen and helm the film based on Don Winslow‘s drug cartel novel Savages, which focus on two Laguna Beach drug dealers forced to work for a Mexican drug cartel after Ophelia, the free-spirited girlfriend they share, is held hostage.

British star Aaron Johnson and Taylor Kitsch are said to be in talks to play the two male leads, with Oscar-winner Benicio del Toro also in discussions about taking on a role.

Blake Lively and Teresa Palmer In Casting Consideration For Oliver Stone’s Savages

Teresa Palmer and Blake Lively

Oliver Stone‘s Savages is coming, but more casting rumors are coming as well! You already know that Jennifer Lawrence is no longer attached to this project because of her The Hunger Games involvement, so as you guess, the biggest question still remains the same – who will play “O” in the upcoming adaptation of the Don Winslow novel?

It looks that we now have three names – Blake Lively, Teresa Palmer and previously reported Olivia Wilde considered for that role!

As we heard, Lively and Palmer have read for the part and join Olivia Wilde as potential candidates to make a turn as “O”, character described as “a free-spirited friend of Laguna Beach pot dealers, Ben and Chon.”

And, while we’re still here, I’m sure you know that Aaron Johnson and Taylor Kitsch are already on board to play “two pot-growers whose shared girlfriend is kidnapped by a Mexican drug cartel demanding that they grow exclusively for them.” Benicio Del Toro is in talks to play the role of the leader of the drug cartel and villain of the film, while Salma Hayek is eyeing the role of the matriarch of the cartel.

Benicio Del Toro to Join Oliver Stone’s Savages

Benicio Del Toro

We already had several reports about this rumor, but now it looks that things are getting serious with the upcoming Oliver Stone‘s adaptation of Savages.

Apparently, previously rumored Benicio Del Toro is now in some serious talks with director to take on the role of the leader of the drug cartel and villain of the film. It’s quite logical decision, if you ask me. On the other hand, still nothing official on Salma Hayek‘s involvement, so consider her as “in discussions.”

So, you already know that Aaron Johnson and Taylor Kitsch are already on board, and they will play “two pot-growers whose shared girlfriend is kidnapped by a Mexican drug cartel demanding that they grow exclusively for them.”

If negotiations with Hayek work out, she would play “the matriarch of the cartel that becomes maternal to the boys’ kidnapped girlfriend Ophelia.”

Olivia Wilde

Oliver Stone‘s Savages casting update! Every single day something new comes about this project, so we’re here today to share that Taylor Kitsch is in contention to play one of the two leads in the movie, while Olivia Wilde and Salma Hayek are also considered for the possible roles in this one. For the rest of the details, make sure to check the rest of this report.

So, we reported that Kick-Ass star, Aaron Johnson is also in talks for a lead role and today Kitsch comes as a surprise. Or, maybe not? We learned that Friday Night Lights star is in talks to play Chon, who grows marijuana with Ben in Laguna Beach.

And, as you already know, Winter’s Bone star, Jennifer Lawrence was in talks to play “beautiful young playmate and accomplice” Ophelia, or simply “O.” But since she’s going to be occupied with The Hunger Games project, we can only guess that she’s not going to be the Savages cast part after all.

Tony Gilroy The Bourne Legacy

The Bourne Legacy huge update! Director Tony Gilroy has been meeting with several actors this week to find the lead for the upcoming franchise that will this time, revolve around a new assassin with a similar background as Jason Bourne’s.

I’m sure you’ll be satisfied to hear that Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire, Garrett Hedlund, Taylor Kitsch and Kellan Lutz are all being considered to play that assassin.

But that’s not all! According to Deadline, Gilroy will also be meeting with Joel Edgerton, Josh Hartnett, Paul Dano, Michael Pitt, Oscar Isaac, Michael Fassbender, Luke Evans, Alex Pettyfer and Benjamin Walker.

So, you already guess, nothing is official at the moment, but, as Variety report – Gilroy has an idea of what kind of actor he wants while Universal has their own ideas about who they want on that poster; it’s implied the studio’s vision doesn’t align perfectly with Gilroy’s.

Liam Neeson Joins Battleship

By Fiona | Sep 9, 2010 | Movie News (0) Comment

Great Liam Neeson is the latest star that signed up for new movie Battleship that will be directed by Peter Berg.

Liam Neeson

Movie already has quite interesting cast: Taylor Kitsch, Brooklyn Decker, Alexander Skarsgaard and Rihanna, and now, with Neeson on board, this definitely looks awesome!

Battleship is a story that “takes place across land, sea and air and sees the planet fighting for survival against an alien invader known as The Regents.”

The movie will be told from both sides of the battle – humans and aliens – and it is known that the alien ships will lose their ability to fly once in earth’s atmosphere.

Taylor Kitsch In Peter Berg’s Battleship

By Fiona | Apr 9, 2010 | Movie News (0) Comment

Taylor KitschTaylor Kitsch has signed on for the lead in Battleship, a live-action adaptation of Hasbro’s board game, that will be directed by Peter Berg.

There aren’t any details about his role yet, but Kitsch will certainly be right in the center of this kind of interesting “epic-alien-story” as they already describe it. So, get ready for another alien invasion guys!

Peter Berg previously said a few things about his Battleship:

“The aliens, called The Regents, came here looking for something, but they are not wholly evil bent on world domination. We did nothing to provoke them, but they still have an ecological interest in our world. Also they fire ballistics, not ray guns and will be half-CG half-”man in a suit” technology. But sadly, their ship is damaged somehow and that becomes another part of the plot.”

So basically we have good guys and we have some strange bad guys, so it could be the very much of the story. So, this is definitely not going to be just action movie, because apparently there’s also a sci-fi angle to the film.
