The Weinstein Company has unleashed20 high resolution photos from John Hillcoat's (The Road, The Proposition) upcoming prohibition crime-drama Lawless. Adapted from Matt Bondurant's novel The Wettest County in the World: A Novel Based on a True Story' the upcoming movie formerly went under the title The Wettest County.
Lawless features a stellar cast in Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Jason Clarke, Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Guy Pearce, Dane DeHaan and Gary Oldman.
Set in the 1920s prohibition era America, the movie is the true story of the Bondurant brothers. Brazen and fearless, these young rural bootleggers became legendary criminals. The youngest brother, Jack (LaBeouf) is ambitious and impulsive, the middle brother, Howard, is loyal but reckless and eldest brother, Forrest (Hardy), leads the family with a silent determination. As the Bondurants' illicit business and legend grows, so too looms the danger of bigger fish, and it's not long before the brothers must face the consequences.
The film hit cinemas August 29th, 2012 in the US and September 7th in the UK.
