The story sees Hugh Jackman play a boxer who’s mothballed when human fighters are replaced by machine pugillists. He’s in financial trouble and his personal life is a mess – and he’s trying to forge a bond with son Max (Dakota Goyo). The turning point for both of them comes when they find a beat-up training robot and restore it to health.
Along with Hugh Jackman the film also stars Evangeline Lilly, Kevin Durand, Anthony Mackie, Dakota Goyo, Hope Davis, James Rebhorn.
Shawn Levy-directed Real Steel opens in conventional and IMAX theaters nationwide on October 7, 2011.
