Vertical has acquired the North American rights to the gripping thriller “A Sacrifice,” directed by Jordan Scott and starring Eric Bana and Sadie Sink. The film, produced by Ridley Scott's Scott Free Productions and augenschein Filmproduktion, will be released exclusively in theaters on June 28, 2024.

“A Sacrifice” follows American social psychologist Ben Monroe, portrayed by Eric Bana, as he delves into the disturbing activities of a local Berlin cult. Meanwhile, his rebellious teenage daughter, Mazzy (Sadie Sink), becomes entangled in the city's underground party scene through a mysterious local boy. As their worlds collide, Ben must race against time to save his daughter.

The impressive cast also includes Sylvia Hoeks, Jonas Dassler, Sophie Rois, Stephan Kampwirth, and Lara Feith. Director and screenwriter Jordan Scott, the daughter of Ridley Scott, expressed her excitement about partnering with Vertical for the release of “A Sacrifice,” stating, “I couldn't be more excited for audiences to see the film in theaters and beyond.”

Vertical Partner Peter Jarowey described “A Sacrifice” as a “riveting, emotionally charged film,” with Eric Bana and Sadie Sink delivering a “dynamic and tense father-daughter relationship” that will captivate audiences from start to finish. Ridley Scott, the film's executive producer, shared his enthusiasm about returning to business with Vertical, praising their commitment to filmmakers and storytelling, as well as their dedication to the theatrical experience.

Key crew members include director of photography Julie Kirkwood, production designer Sebastian Soukup, editor Rachel Durance, costume designer Brie Harris, and composer Volker Bertelmann. Protagonist Pictures is handling all international rights to the film.

With its gripping storyline, talented cast, and experienced crew, “A Sacrifice” promises to be a must-see thriller for movie enthusiasts this summer. Mark your calendars for June 28 and get ready for an intense cinematic experience.
