Ugh. Another trailer? Baby Assassins 3 is here and I swear I just watched a different trailer for this series like, yesterday. It's all blending together. Anyway—what was I saying? Oh, right. The new trailer just dropped, and now the VOD and Blu-ray are coming August 26th from Well Go USA. I can't even keep up.
So, Chisato and Mahiro—Akari Takaishi and Saori Izawa, who's apparently a big deal stuntwoman from Snake Eyes and Rurouni Kenshin—are back at it. This time they're in Miyazaki. Sounds chill, but it's just more chaos and fighting. There's a new female assassin, because of course there is. More drama, more slicing, more “who's next?” I already forgot half the cast. Sôsuke Ikematsu, Atsuko Maeda, Atomu Mizuishi… it's like a roll call of names that just bounce off my brain.
Director Yugo Sakamoto and action guy Kensuke Sonomura are still here. They've been doing this since 2022, so either they love this madness or they're stuck. The movie premiered in Japan last September, then did New York Asian Film Festival and Fantasia in Montreal. Fancy, I guess. But now, straight to VOD and Blu-ray. My cousin thought it was still in theaters. Didn't bother correcting him.
I dunno, maybe this is just how movies work now. Trailer, VOD, trailer, VOD. I miss when you had to wait. Waiting made things feel bigger. Now it's just bam, bam, bam—here's another trailer, here's another sequel. Maybe I'm just tired. No. No. Just… no.
