Ben Affleck will rewrite, direct and star in “The Town,” a Warner Bros. adaptation of the Chuck Hogan novel “The Prince of Thieves.
Affleck is rewriting the script from Peter Craig and Hogan and Adriene Lynne was previously attached to direct and planning to star as the thief who falls in love with the manager of a bank
Graham King (The Departed, Blood Diamond) is producing through his GK Films.
The story involves a high-tension love triangle between a female bank manager, a longtime thief who stole more than her heart and an equally smitten FBI agent trying to bust the crook and his gang before they can pull another big job.
The film will be based in Charlestown, Massachusetts, a gritty blue-collar Boston suburb similar to the one that Affleck captured in his directorial debut, Gone Baby Gone.
No production schedule was released for “The Town.”
