I guess we all remember Cannonball Run movie, right? So, anyone out there excited about the remake of the whole thing?
I know I'm not, but what the hell, if Guy Ritchie wants Brad Pitt to star as the lead, it could be something interesting.
After all, we have remakes all over the place, one more couldn't hurt us. Now, the only thing we're worried about is – who will pay for this cross-country road race? Here's the answer guys – General Motors!
But let's get something straight. GM is in discussions to back The Cannonball Run in a deal that would be “much larger than your average product placement.”
And, it's not all about Guy Ritchie. Apparently, Shawn Levy is also interested in the whole thing. And, believe it or not, Levy actually wants his Night At The Museum star Ben Stiller as the leading man! Who's crazy here?
I'm confused now, and it looks that I will not get things straight this time. Is this going to be something like that double Snow White thing, or what? It could be great, I mean – just imagine, Ritchie and Pitt on one side, shooting Cannonball Run somewhere in Europe, and Levy with Stiller somewhere on the Mars, maybe? Oh, man, that would be fun!
Anyway, you probably remember that Hal Needham's original 1981 film was quite a success (no, we're not going to mention that creepy sequel) and featured A – star cast of Burt Reynolds, Roger Moore and Farrah Fawcett, with cameo appearances from Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and Jackie Chan.
