Bradley Cooper In for BAD BLOOD AND TROUBLE and A STAR IS BORN

Nick Martin August 17, 2012 Add a Comment
Bradley Cooper Bradley Cooper is already looking at projects to do after The Hangover Part III (the film is adding John Goodman to the cast) is completed; he's entering negotiations for J. Blakeson's crime thriller Bad Blood and Trouble. Romantic action drama that's to be directed by J. Blakeson (The Disappearance of Alice Creed), Bad Blood and Trouble, set in Miami, focus on a detective who falls in love with a woman married to a man whose currently being headhunted by a number of criminals in town. Shooting for Bad Blood should begin in the latter half of 2013. Additionally, Clint Eastwood is considering Cooper to take over the lead opposite Beyoncé Knowles in his remake of the musical A Star is Born. Screenwriter Will Fetters said in April:
I think I've reinvented the Norman Maine character, the lead. I wanted to do A Star is Born because I'm a huge Kurt Cobain fan. That was like my Kennedy assassination when I was a teenager. When he died it was a huge horrible thing. So I approached A Star is Born, for me the framework was all right, if Kurt Cobain never got to go Unplugged and survived and it's 20 years later and it's now, and he wanted to try to do that album with that understanding as this grunge icon. That'd be tough to get done if he was past his prime, no longer selling, how does he get that album?
Cooper is being seen as the mentor who falls for Beyoncé's rising starlet even as her career begins to outstrip his own.The in-demand actor has a busy time ahead, so that doesn't mean he couldn't end up taking both projects. Meanwhile, he can be seen next in next week's action-comedy Hit and Run, CBS Films' drama The Words on September 7st and David O Russell's Silver Linings Playbook, which is out on November 21st.
