Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs – Trailer
CLOUDY Sequel Finds New Experienced Directors
Two years before, Phil Lord and Chris Miller brought life to the adaptation of the beloved children's book Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs which was nominated for Golden Globe. Though it's based on a book, this was a surprisingly original outing.
Now, Sony Animation artists Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn have been hired to direct it's sequel, which will not be based on the sequel book, titled Pickles in Pittsburgh.
The project will be the first major studio feature for Pearn and Cameron who both worked on the first movie as head of story and a story artist. The former is also responsible for the home video sequel Open Season 3.
The duo will be helming the sequel from a new draft of a script written by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (Horrible Bosses).
The Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 has not yet received the green light.
Chris Miller and Phil Lord will executive produce the follow up.
The original adaptation of the popular children's book by Judi and Ron Barrett featured the voices from the excellent the B-plus list cast of Bill Hader, Anna Faris, James Caan, Bruce Campbell, Andy Samberg, Mr. T and one of the most amusingly odd voice turns in the film that comes from Neil Patrick Harris who voices a monkey named Steve.
Let's hope that they can bring everyone back. We'll keep you up to date.
