Nothing spectacular about this news, but we're still here to report that director Marc Webb is officialy on board to helm a sequel to his The Amazing Spider-Man movie. As you already know, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is all set to hit 3D theaters in May, 2014.
You're probably more interested in the cast-part of this story, so here we go. Andrew Garfield is already set to return as Peter Parker, while Emma Stone is reportedly still in talks to reprise her role as Gwen Stacy.
On the other hand, we do know that Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci will be in charge for the script, together with Jeff Pinkner, and the whole thing will be based on a previous draft written by James Vanderbilt.
Columbia Pictures president Doug Belgrad already made a promise that they all have a lot of interesting things about Peter and Spider-Man to share with audiences worldwide, so let's wait and see what will happen with the second part of the well-known story.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will open on May 2nd, 2014.
