Former Harry Potter star
Daniel Radcliffe will star in the
Alexandre Aja's supernatural fantasy/thriller
Horns, based on the novel by
Joe Hill.
Keith Bunin (In Treatment) adapted the screenplay from the best-selling novel.
Aja said in a press release:
After reading Joe Hill's cult book, I couldn't resist temptation to dive into the devilish underworld and reinvent a universal myth. Horns' is a wild ride of sin and crime, with a love story in its heart.
Red Granite principals Riza Aziz and Joey McFarland added:
Horns is a wildly unique thriller that's ripe for the big screen. Daniel is an amazing talent who will deliver a gripping performance with Alex at the helm. “We're happy to be working with Mandalay and Joe Hill to bring this project to life.
Radcliffe will portray Ig Perrish, the main suspect in the rape and murder of his girlfriend. After a night of intense drinking, he wakes one morning to find horns growing from his head, appendages that have the ability to force confessions from strangers, which aids him in his quest to find the real killer and exact his revenge.
Shooting is expected to begin in the fall.
Radcliffe has recently wrapped several films, including a Woman in Black sequel, and the beat poetry drama Kill Your Darlings.
